Good and Evil

GOOD and EVIL mark a distance between what is beneficial and what is useless.

SIN [any short-fall you may experience] is revealed by a rule or target being set for you by God.

SIN [falling-short of the mark set for you by God] invites chastisement.
SIN also earns your death --- unless your short-fall is pardoned & cleansed from you by God.
